• Responsible for all facets of medical associated individual product and therapeutic area specific work within the Department, including technical issues to ensure all pharmacovigilance/risk management activities for investigational drug and marketed products are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures of DSI, the Region (North America, South America, Pacific Rim, Australia and Japan), BIPI
• Management and Corporate Drug Safety, and the IND and NDA regulations of the FDA. Assures that all necessary activities for anticipating, detecting, and analyzing product specific safety issues are assessed and monitored in order to deterine impact on labeling or continuation of drug development. Supports the Executive Director, DSI in assessing risk/benefit issues concerning potential drug-related toxicity, and ensures continued surveillance of the Company's products.
• Responsible for assessing individual case reports to determine regulatory reporting responsibilities and assesses benefit-risk, potential drug-related toxicities, potential safety signals and writes individual case assessments and inteprets aggregate safety data.
• Determines potential impact of safety data on product labeling or development status of investigational compounds, writes international case assessments for cases processed within the Regional Center and works with colleagues in Corporate Drug Safety and Regional Center Europe to assess potential safety signals and recommend updates to the Company's core data sheet and local product labeling.
• Reviews protocols, aggregates global and local submissions to ensure procedural compliance and assesses medical content for accuracy. Communicates potential safety issues, activities and accomplishments to the Executive Director of DSI as well as colleagues in Corporate Drug Safety and Regional Center Eruope.
Qualification and Requirement: Winning candidate will possess the following
• Doctoral Degree
• Writes NDA periodic reports as part of aggregate data review.
• Must possess at least a M.D. or its foreign equivalent.
• Must have completed a residency program
• Must have a license to practice medicine in the U.S. or in a country abroad.
