Job Description:
Project Manager job in Eureka, California; This person must be the go-to person for all things CEQA related. Description follows: this position will be responsible for
helping public officials and citizens understand the environmental
consequences of major projects and actions. Project managers will act as
technical advisors and consultants for natural resource, permitting &
planning, environmental and department issues needing a quick turn-around.
Primary duties include: Preparing technical sections and reports specific to
botanical and biological resource impact analysis in support of CEQA and
NEPA documents;
• Coordinating with State and Federal agencies;
• Overseeing the development and preparation of CEQA/NEPA technical environmental documentation and permits for projects;
• Preparing and reviewing reports,
proposals and budgets, and managing projects to meet financial targets;
Developing conceptual and final habitat restoration plans; Overseeing
habitat restoration construction; Long-term monitoring of restoration sites
and mitigation feasibility studies;
• Developing and sustaining client
relationships and interfacing with engineering design teams on environmental
permit requirements; and Monitoring project areas during construction.
• Additional duties include managing and performing field studies and protocol
surveys, habitat assessments and associated mapping, and wetland
delineations.
Qualification and Requirement: Winning candidate will possess the following
• Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Bachelor of Science/Biological Sciences from an accredited university or
college (Emphasis in Botany or Plant Ecology preferred)
• Minimum of five (5) years technical experience in a consulting environment
• CEQA proficiency is requisite
• GIS and GPS experience is a plus
• Valid Driver's license (CA) by hire date
• Working knowledge of the conditions and natural resource requirements in northern California and southern Oregon preferred.
• A solid understanding of Western flora with emphasis on Northern California
